Zinare

Zinare follows Sulaim, a quiet boy from Yankin Tudu whose selective mutism, sharp intelligence, and harsh sense of humour set him apart from other children. When young Naila seeks his help after being bullied, his refusal to comfort her begins an unexpected connection: she keeps returning, while he gradually becomes more willing to accompany her to school and let her into his guarded world. Around them, family loyalties, old grievances, and the struggle for prosperity shape life in the region. Sulaim’s father, Abduh Dhahab, is a skilled potter whose famous Zinare cookware draws wealthy outsiders and the attention of powerful men, while Naila’s family makes clay toys for the same bustling market. As ambitions grow, Sufyan pursues money, status, and a marriage that may advance his position, becoming entangled in schemes surrounding the Dhahab name. Years later, Naila’s return and the news of what she has endured force Sulaim to confront the past he tried to erase. Zinare is a Hausa family drama and romance of ambition, betrayal, resilience, and bonds that refuse to disappear.
