A Zato Na
Part One
By Billyn Abdul
Na'ilah is a young health student balancing demanding clinical work with a home life shaped by resentment, remarriage and emotional neglect. Since her father took Ramata as a new wife, the peace she once knew with her mother has disappeared, leaving Na'ilah guarded and deeply observant of the damage marriage can cause. Her days at a public health centre bring their own distress, while her friendship with Janan draws her into the tense household of Yaya Bilal, where jealousy, accusations and complicated family loyalties are impossible to ignore. At the hospital, Dr. Na Abba begins to pursue Na'ilah with warmth and persistence, but she insists that her family has already arranged a marriage for her and refuses to make promises. As circumstances pull her closer to Bilal's troubled household, however, boundaries become harder to maintain. Affection, duty and suspicion begin to overlap, forcing Na'ilah to question what she wants and whom she can trust. This Hausa romance explores family conflict, unequal marriages and the quiet choices that can reshape a young woman's future.
