A Duniyata: Huguma opens with a family already pushed to the edge. After their grandmother’s death, two brothers are left with a seriously ill father, little food, and no dependable support. Their mother, Mariya, decides to leave, forcing the older boy to confront a responsibility far beyond his years and to promise that the children will survive together, whatever hardship awaits. Help eventually comes from Abba Farouq, who takes them into his household, but shelter does not erase the wounds of abandonment, poverty, and resentment. As the story moves between this painful past and the more comfortable but complicated world surrounding the adult Fu’ad, old loyalties and buried memories continue to shape the lives of everyone involved. Wealth brings influence, education, travel, and luxury, yet it also creates new tensions: a mother’s relentless demands for money, uneasy family relationships, romantic attention that may not be sincere, and questions about the people allowed into a powerful household. With family obligations, class differences, emotional scars, and possible marriage choices colliding, Part One sets up a deeply dramatic story about survival, belonging, and the cost of unresolved history.
